¿Monarquia? No, gracias.

Tras la publicación del libro sobre la vida de la reina Sofia, y su posterior polémica sobre las opiniones vertidas en el mismo, nuevamente me pongo a darle vueltas al coco para poder justificar el mantenimiento de la monarquia en España.

Los presupuestos generales del Estado dotan una partida de 9.8 millones de euros en 2009 para libre disposición de la familia real. A este montante no se le han sumado los gastos de desplazamientos, seguridad, etc.. que elevan exponencialmente la cantidad a distribuir entre nuestros "queridos" monarcas.

Interesante denominar democracia a una monarquia, cuando existen ciudadanos que disponen de mayores derechos y menos deberes que el resto por el mero hecho de nacer en una cuna real.

La vergüenza e indignación que entiendo debería tener cualquier democrata ante tamaña injusticia, se diluye frente a un rey tan bonachón y cercano a su pueblo llano. La plebe necesita referentes, y los reyes a sus sumisos subditos. Al fin y al cabo hay cosas que nunca cambian.

Hoy han comenzado las rebajas prenavideñas en EEUU. Y en ese pais acaba de fallecer un hombre asfixiado bajo el tumulto de una masa enfervorecida que ha derribado las puertas de los conocidos almacenes Wal Mart. Mientras que los enloquecidos consumidores se abalanzaban hacia cualquier producto que se interpusiera en su camino, un desgraciado individuo agonizaba pisoteado. Increible pero cierto.

En medio de una gran crisis economica, seguimos idiotizados consumiendo y consumiendo para satisfacer nuestras creadas necesidades y mantenernos felices hasta nuestra proxima compra.

Paralelamente, tal dia como hoy, la revista canadiense Adbusters promueve desde 1994 el "Buy Nothing Day", que pretende evitar el consumo durante 24 horas como forma de reclamar que el verdadero poder economico está en las manos de la gente. Recomiendo visitar su web: www.adbusters.org   donde se pueden observar las acciones que sus activistas realizan cada año: Crear colas ficticias en los lineales de caja de los supermercados, pegar sloganes en los productos con el detalle de los componentes perjudiciales para la salud, o vestirse de zombies y pasear con un carro vacio por los centros comerciales.

Mientras consumimos somos mas conformistas, menos criticos y, lo mas importante, seguimos engrasando este "maravilloso" sistema capitalista.... pero disculpen...  debo terminar mi reflexión aqui porque se me hace tarde y me cierran el Carrefour.

Concebido en un muy delicado estado de salud, el que para mi es uno de los mas grandes escritores vivos, afirma que esta publicación "es un libro lleno de vida, pese a haber sido escrito en las fronteras de la muerte".

Con sus 86 años y conmemorando el décimo aniversario de la concesión del premio Nobel, lo único que deseo es que no sea el último.

La cumbre del G-20

Refundación del capitalismo. Esa era la frase mas repetida estas últimas semanas antes de comenzar la cumbre de los siete paises mas industrializados del mundo, los paises emergentes, España y Holanda. Obviamente, como cualquier ciudadano sensato ya preveia, la conclusión final proclama:

"Nuestro trabajo estará guiado por la creencia compartida en los principios de Mercado, el libre comercio y los sistemas de inversión, y en mercados financieros regulados eficazmente para promover el dinamismo, la innovación y la iniciativa empresarial que son esenciales para el crecimiento económico, el empleo y la reducción de la pobreza".

 

Es decir, no se va a producir ningun cambio significativo. Los poderosos magnates capitalistas y sus aliados (excelente foto de portada en el diario El Pais de 14-11-08) no van a permitir una profunda revisión del sistema neoliberal actual, evitando la necesaria regulación de los mercados por estamentos internacionales verdaderamente democráticos.

Sin embargo, lo mas hipocrita y triste de la declaración final de la cumbre radica en  las últimas palabras: ..reducción de la pobreza".  Que bonito queda una declaración de intenciones cuando se introducen estos términos. ¿Alguien me podría explicar que medidas se supone que van a tomar para reducir la pobreza en el mundo?  ¿Creen que la reforma del FMI y el Banco Mundial se dirije hacia ese objetivo?  ....  Una vez más los grandes mandatarios mundiales desaprovechan una oportunidad única para cambiar las injustas reglas de mercado.

Afortunadamente aun existen talentos en España que crean nuevos estilos, personales y originales, como Manos de Topo. Sus canciones al desamor y la peculiar interpretación vocal de su lider, Miguel Angel, hacen de este cuarteto afincado en Barcelona una sorprendente joya a descubrir. Finalmente, despues de negarme durante años a actualizarme tecnologicamente, comienzo este blog sin objetivo definido. Voy a publicar lo que me de la gana y a desvariar cuanto me apetezca. Creo que esa es la finalidad de un blog y éste no va a ser menos.
